Wheeled systems have proved it efficiency but it has limited capability when it comes to navigation in different varieties of terrain. This is where legged robots come into play. In contrast to the wheeled counterparts the legged robots are capable of accessing a much wider variety of terrains. This is evidenced by the fact that biological legged animals are capable of accessing the earth’s land surface entirely. The technological superiority has attracted the interest of many researchers and scientists. Such a superior technology when combined with another revolutionary technology for climbing creates a product that will be a blessing for our brothers guarding our borders with freezing temperatures.
The aim is to minimize fatalities in different strategic operations in the defense sector by employing robots in frontal attacks. There are numerous instances that prove that the problem really exists. The Daksh robot of DRDO stuck in mid of an operation at Pathankot attack thereby bringing the operation at risk. Another example is the Siachen, where the condition is very adverse for humans to stay and guard. All such problems cannot be solved by wheeled robots. Therefore we are to introduce this legged robot. It is well known about the adverse condition in the LOC, Siachen. It is near to impossible for the soldiers to guard there. Many soldiers have sacrificed their lives to protect us. Due to the unstable neighbors of India, it is seen that there is an increase in attacks in different forms and we are losing our soldiers at a faster rate.
These needs to be stopped anyhow and as soon as possible. In Siachen 1000+ soldiers have died, with 2300 Cr spent each year of taxpayers money to accommodate them. Also in different attacks many soldiers have died. If the soldiers in frontal attack can be replaced with robots then it will be a blessing as the risks will minimize and also an increase in nation’s security. It is a legged robot which can traverse through various rugged terrains. It will also be able to climb mountains of certain slopes.
Thus, the robot can be used in various ways by mounting guns, cameras, grippers, etc. based on the type of mission. It will have night vision cameras, can scan through wall, etc. In places like Siachen, the robot can be left out in the adverse environment and the army can stay below in a base station and control the robot. In terrorist attacks, i.e. frontal attacks, the robot can be sent ahead of the army and get first-hand information and also neutralize enemies.
